Our Beginning

The St. Regis Nursing Home was opened on December 14, 1971 with a bed capacity of 152 residents (44 Skilled Beds and 108 Health Related Beds), situated in Massena, NY. At its inception, St. Regis Nursing Home was servicing residents from St. Lawrence, Franklin, and Jefferson Counties. The original building was constructed as a Holiday Inn in 1959 and in 1971 was renovated/converted into a nursing home and health related facility. This building at that time had a approximately 64,000 square feet. In 1985, the New York State Health Department eliminated the distinction between skilled nursing and health related and changed it to Nursing Facility beds. So, from then on, the facility became a 152 bed Nursing Facility.

Renovations

On April, 1999, St. Regis Nursing Home began our major renovation/construction project which was completed in May, 2001. The facility is now a 160 bed Nursing Facility with an additional two (2) Respite beds servicing the community. This building is now over 122,000 square feet in size that includes a two-story atrium with sky-lights for year-round use, along with two (2) new dining rooms and several lounges that overlook the atrium.
